The ukrainian PITCHUGIN-TIMOKHOV.YAROVOY trio is the 2003 World Champion…

Unfortunately the World’s last race was a little odd. The wind has turned significantly and lost it’s power. So the Race Committee decided to finish the race at the end of the last downwind section. It spoiled the order very much. The only stable participant was the Ukrainian PITCHUGIN-TIMOKHOV-YAROVOY trio (on our picture), who won the World’s with full of confidence.

14:10 PM

Unfortunately the wind did not last so the fleet has to finish at the end of the upwind. We don’t have much information, the only thing is for sure, is that the race and the World’s Championship has won by the Ukrainian team led by Pitchugin.

The German Maschkiwitz arrived on the 2nd place, – and it can happen that he’ll be the 2nd in the overall ranking aswell – while the Hungarian Wossala team ended on the 3rd, and the Litkey team on the 4th place.

Exact finishing order and final results coming up later.

13:59 PM

Present order: 1.) UKR1; 2.) GER304; 3.) HUN77; 4.) HUN311; 5.) GER312; 6.) NOR128; 12.) Auteried; 15.) Gyenese; 18.) Winkler; 22.) SLO1.

13:55 PM

Let’s see the possibilities after a quick mental arithmetic. If the German Maschkiwitz arrives for 2nd, then he has 29 points. If Wossala is the 3rd, then they have 32 points, if Auteried is the 10th then they possess 30 points. If the Gyenese team is the 20th then 39 points, if the Slovenian 23rd, then 42 points. If these previously calculated positions will stay as they are, and the German Winkler finishes on a better place like the 14th, then he holds his silver medal. There are so many changes and just the Ukrainian Pitchugin’s place is  insured.

13:45 PM

The actual situation shows that the Austrian Auteried can still catch not just the 3rd, but the 2nd place aswell. Winkler is in a very bad position. Getting closer to the upwind mark Pitchugin is the 1st, GER304 is the 2nd, Wossala or Litkey is the 3rd.

13:10 PM

Pitchugin was the first to arrive to the first upwind mark, 2nd and 3rd the two German teams, 4th the Wossala team, 5th the Litkey team, 6th the Majoross team, 7th the Austrian Auteried. Unfortunately the Hungarian Gyenese team is just the 22nd, but they rival, the Slovenian team is just the 30th. In this situation, the Austrian Auteried is good for the stand.

12:30 PM

The wind continously lightening and turning into east, showing that it can run out. Hopefully it’ll hold out for this race.

12:25 PM

As the Ukrainian team arrived on the 4th place in the previous race, while the German Winkler much behind them, they could catch the first position in the overall standings. The Gyenese-Mónus-Vezér trio stand on the 3rd, with 1 point advantage against the slovenian boat. They have just one thing to do, not to have worse position then the SLO1, because if they have a worse one then the SLO1 will win, as they have a won race, while the Gyenese team hasn’t got any.
